An Experimental Study of Moxa - Combustion Time in each Period by the Density of Moxa Material



Abstract
It is experimented that the pattern of combustion temperature was classified into preheating, heating, retaining and cooling period. In order to get the basic data on the effective moxa-combustion method, difference of the time interval on the combustion state of the heating and retaining period(heating period, rising curve on the heating period, descending curve on the heating period, heating and retaining period, retaining period, ) were measured by the density of moxa material, respectively.
For the experiment, samples of 300§·/0.26§¨:, 400§·/0.26§¨ and 700§·/0.26§¨ of moxa material were molded in a conial mold with each 10§® in diameter and heigt.
The following results were obtained :
1. Heating period, rising curve on the heating period, heating and retaining period and retaining period on the moxa combustion time showed shorter in the 300§·/0.26§¨ than in the 500§·/0.26§¨ and 400§·/0.26§¨ sample respectively.
2. It does not reveal any statistical difference between 300§·/0.26§¨ and 400§·/0.26§¨ and 500§·/0.26§¨ in the descending curve on the heating period.
According to the above results, it is concluded that the lower density of moxa material in invariable limit, the shorter the combustion time in each period than in the higher density of material except descending curve on the heating period.
